PvP and Ranks

First things first. The Exalted is a PvP oriented Guild. While we do focus on questing and exploring the natural environment, our main goal is the capture and safety of Cyrodil. Therefore to organize things and to provide a sense of progression inside the Guild as well as some friendly competition, we need Ranks.

1. Recruit - The recruit is the rank given to all new members, it shows that you are inside the Guild and that you are one of The Exalted.  However, this is the most basic of ranks and its main purpose it to show us if you are committed.

2. Trooper - The rank given to a recruit who shows commitment and skill. Troopers work under an Officer*, and are separated based on class** shown below.  Troopers are expected to follow their Officer's orders during a battle, even if they seem stupid at the time!  A bad move carried out as a unit is still better than "every man for himself."  If a Trooper deserts his squad during a battle, he will most likely be demoted.

*If you have any complaints about your officer, post in the forums or contact a General or Champion.

**We understand that in a TES game, classes are a bit blurred. You will be given a class based on your specialty, or the class of Legionnaire if no specialty is apparent.

          1.  Battlemage-  A battlemage is any mage that is combat oriented.

          2.  Cleric-  Any healing or support class.

          3.  Paladin-  A "tank" if you are familiar with MMOs, or a player who can soak up damage.

          4.  Ranger- An archer, or any non-mage player who focuses on ranged combat.

          5.  Legionnaire- A basic melee class and well rounded players.

3.  Officer - The rank given to a player who shows skill, maturity, intelligence, and basic tactical skill.  An Officer leads a group of Troopers on the battlefield.  Officers are expected to be fair, but firm.  The ideal Officer maintains control over his squad, but does not lead with iron fist.

4.  Champion - A player who shows skill in combat, intelligence, and strategic understanding of the way battles work.  A Champion is in charge of a group of Officers.  A Champion directs the battle strategically, and tells Officers where to move or attack.  These orders are meant to be strategic (broad); let the Officers make tactical decisions.  Champions must be skilled enough to defend themselves as well, for several reasons: Our leaders must appear strong to inspire the troops, they must survive to maintain order on the battlefield, and they must not be a liability that needs guarding.

5.  Knight - A knight is an honorary title given to a player who demonstrates extreme skill in PvP.  We will only have up to 4 Knights at a time.  To become a Knight after those spots have been taken, you must defeat one of the existing Knights in a duel.

6.  General - A General is a leader of the faction.  Generals are to be respected and obeyed.  Being promoted to General is extremely difficult, as Generals will vote to make all major decisions for the guild.  To become a General, you must show extreme administrative skill, maturity, intelligence, skill in PvP and PvE, loyalty, commitment, and more.  A Champion or Knight may apply to be elected to the council of Generals by a vote of existing Generals.
